The Common Space

Regenerating public land and buildings for the benefit of local communities & promoting the Island's UNESCO World Biosphere designation and principles.

The Common Space

We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to managing, restoring, and celebrating public spaces on the Isle of Wight. We believe that public spaces are vital for community well-being and aim to rewrite the instructions for their effective use.

With a grassroots approach, we regenerate local areas, protect their integrity, and promote social investment for positive change. Since 2016, we've raised over £500,000 for projects like restoring historic buildings, creating nature trails, and establishing free community facilities and attractions.

Transforming Spaces

Through events, collaborations with universities, and community engagement, we've transformed our base at Browns into a thriving hub, supporting local jobs and businesses. We actively utilise public spaces to support health, education, and provide respite for those in need.
